What does the home page show?: It shows most recent local activities in the Calgary area coming from a variety of content sources. We index local news from multiple sources, new ads from YellowPages.ca, and new classified ads from BuySell.com. We also show votes and comments from Calgary.com users on their favorite local places.
How do I vote and/or comment on a place?: Search for the place your looking for (all searches are in Calgary by default). If you want to show your appreciation for a place, click on the up arrow in the Praize this box. If you don’t like the place, click on the down arrow. If you want to leave a comment, click the comment link/tab and leave your comment. You need to be logged-in to vote or comment.
I've voted for (or against) a place but it does not appear on the home page. Is your site broken?: No, it takes a few minutes for our search engine to index the place activity and show it on the home page.
Can I suggest new external sources of content for your site?: Yes, please send suggestions to calgary@praizedmedia.com

How does the search engine work?: After you enter one or multiple keywords and/or place name in the "look for" search box, you click on find button. It will return the last five activities from our activity stream (including Twitter results) and places that matched those search terms in Calgary.
What can I find in your search engine?: Our database includes all the places you find in the Calgary Yellow Pages directory (on YellowPages.ca). For example, you’ll find restaurants, bars, lawyers but also architects, shopping centers and every other type of business categories you usually find in business directories.
How does the "Look for" search box work?: You can enter any types of categories, tags, keywords, brands/services or place names in the "Search for" search box.
Can I search in comments?: Not currently but it's coming soon!
Can I search by phone number?: Not at this moment.
How are search results ranking determined?: For the activities portion, we show the last five activities related to the search query. For places, they are ranked by vote percentage, with the highest ranking going to the highest percentage.
I've voted for (or against) a place but it does not appear at the right spot in the search results. Is your site broken?: No, it takes a few minutes for our search engine to index the new vote and show the place at the appropriate ranking in the search results.

How does ranking work?: For the activities portion, we show the last five activities related to the search query. Place that have been voted on appear first, with the highest ranking going to the highest percentage. We will then show all places with no votes in random order.

How do I start voting?: You need to create a user account with us. After, you can find places that you want to vote for (or against) and start voting. You don't need to leave a comment after voting.
Can I vote more than once?: You cannot vote more than once in the same direction for the same place, but you can change your mind and vote a place up after voting it down (and vice-versa).

Yes, if you want to add new comments or forgot to mention something, go ahead. But make sure you don't duplicate your previous comment.
Can I flag a comment that's offensive, spammy or completely wrong?: Yes, write to calgary@praizedmedia.com and we'll try to help you.

How do I start tagging?: You need to create a user account with us. After, you can find places that you want to tag and create new tags by clicking "add tags". You don't need to vote or comment to add a new tag.
Can I remove or change a tag?: Not at this moment. We suggest you add new tags to make that place more relevant.

I can't find the place I'm looking for. Can I add a place?: Yes, visit Praized.com to add the place to our database.

Can I edit a place in your database?: No, not at this moment, but soon! If you think the place's name or address should be modified (the place has moved, changed names, closed etc.) write to calgary@praizedmedia and we'll try to help you.

Can I remove a place in your database?: No, but if you think it should be removed (the place has closed, burned down, etc.) write to calgary@praizedmedia and we'll try to help you.
