September is a Month Full of Galas in Calgary

There was a time in Calgary’s history where January and February were known as the months for fancy fundraisers and parties. This year, however, the month of September has been taken over by Galas.

It is important to keep in mind that some of these are very big parties – and they could already be sold out! The ones not sold out, are selling out fast. The upside is, you can learn more about these functions this year and buy your tickets for next year! Don’t forget these are events hosted in order to raise money for great causes.

Nordstrom Charity Gala – September 17, 2014 – Nordstrom Chinook

The purpose of this part is to celebrate the opening of the vest first Nordstrom in the entire country. Consider this party as a sneak peek of what Nordstrom has to offer just a few days before it officially opens to the public.

Calgary International Film Festival Galas – September 18, 22, 25 and 28, 2014

This festival will host four different galas. These galas are an opportunity for you to put on your best outfit and enjoy a night on the town with your friends and family members. What draws people to the galas at this festival is the fact that they are not nearly as fancy.

Hope Rising for Africa – September 19, 2014 – Hyatt Regency

This is an international gala that hopes to raise money to help fund a number of microfinance projects that are taking place in Africa. The goal of these projects is to help eliminate poverty and prevent people from struggling to make enough money to keep themselves fed.

The only thing better than a fancy party is a fancy party with a side of fundraiser. Put on your best dress and open your wallet, these are opportunities to help people in need.
