Taste of Calgary — August 8th-11th

Every day from 11am until 10pm, head over to Eau Claire Market Plaza for your chance to sample extraordinary eats as well as to listen to live music each and every day! Panda Breakfast — August 3rd, 10th, 17th and 31st

What better place to eat a delectable brunch than at the zoo with the Pandas? August is the final month to enjoy this unique dining experience with your family where you will get a first-hand look at the Calgary Zoo's pandas. Enter the zoo before the busy hours, enjoy a wide selection of breakfast favourites, and once you finish eating learn more about panda bears and get an up-close look! Summer Sun Fest — August 24th, 25th and 31st

Come and celebrate summer fun on the farm this August with the Calgary Corn Maze! Their Summer Sun Fest is taking place over three days and is the perfect time for you and the family to taste some corn, get your face painted, join in decorating activities, and snatch some candy from the Candy Cannon explosion! Admission prices are $16.95 online or $18.95 at the gates — those under the age of 2 are free.

Sunflower Festival — August 24th, 25th, and 31st

This summer Cobbs Adventure Park is happy to once again host their breath-taking Sunflower Festival. Journey through the tall sunflower maze and try to find the exit. Once completed, take a sunflower home! In addition to the maze, be sure to check out the park's other features that include a kangaroo petting zoo, climbing wall, mini golf, ropes course, and other attractions.

Calgary Dragon Boat Festival — August 9th-11th

Celebrating the 2000-year-old Chinese tradition, Calgary will be hosting a spectacular Dragon Boat Festival this August in North Glenmore Park! The event is free to the public and will showcase dragon boat competitions, a kids zone, live entertainment, food trucks, beer gardens, and more! Marda Gras Street Festival — August 11th

On August 11th, visit the Marda Loop area to witness the Marda Grass Street Festival in Calgary! Beginning at 10am, visit the many local shopping vendors, kids areas, and wide selection of food along 33rd Avenue SW. The event will also feature favourite local bands as well as have dance performances all day long on the 18th street Dance Stage. The festivities will continue until 5pm, and the event is free for all to attend!

Globalfest 2019 — August 15th-24th

From 6pm until 11pm, head down to Elliston Park to see one of the most spectacular fireworks shows in Alberta — Globalfest! This firework festival will show off "Calgary's cultural diversity and artistic excellence." The event will begin on the 15th with a display of USA's fireworks, and in the days following will present Spain, China, and Canada's fireworks before the finale display on August 24th. Country Thunder Alberta — August 16th-18th

If country music is the genre for you, then Country Thunder Alberta is the one event you will not want to miss out on this month. Hosted at the Prairie Winds Park in Calgary, you will have the chance to listen to hit country artists each day of the event. Cirque du Soliel LUZIA — August 17th-September 22nd

If you are a fan of the "weird" American singer and songwriter, "Weird Al" Yankovic, then you will want to be attending his Strings Attached Tour, coming to Calgary on August 24th. Taking place at the Jack Singer Concert Hall at Arts Commons, you can enjoy his hits and classics, with an enormous production promised to entertain you all night long!

6th Annual PAWS in the PARK

For the 6th consecutive year, Paws in the Park is happy to announce their annual "PAWS in the PARK" event to support the Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society (AARCS). You and your dog are invited to this pet-friendly charitable event from 10am until 4pm at River Park for food vendors, pet market vendors, beer garden, bouncy house, and other great activities!
