The Killarney/Glengarry community has a long history. Urbanization prior to World War II took place at a rather slow pace, wherein the majority of houses built were basic clapboard structures. But by the end of the war, developers began building more clapboard bungalows and small stuccos -- numbering by the hundreds -- in lots spanning 25 and 50-feet wide.
