Richmond Community Homes

Several major thoroughfares around the Richmond community enable home buyers to have quick and convenient access to the various points of interest in and around Calgary’s downtown district. The southern periphery of Richmond real estate is bordered by 33rd Avenue, while 17th Avenue traverses its northern periphery. East of the neighbourhood are 19th Street, 26th Avenue and 20th Street, while 25th Street and Richmond Road run along its western perimeter. Richmond Hill’s boundary overlaps that of another community, Killarney, which is west of Crowchild Trail.

As one of Calgary’s oldest communities, Richmond has a distinct charm courtesy of the 1950s properties which have been maintained in the locality. Besides these vintage homes, the residential structures in the neighbourhood include a mix of two-story homes, bungalows, split-level residences, duplexes, townhouses and condos. Negotiations for a sales-listed townhouse or condominium unit in Richmond can start around $200k. For the more luxurious choices, due diligence can revolve around the neighborhood’s single-family homes with tag prices reaching the $1-million-plus mark.

Richmond Neighbourhood Amenities

Construction of a new community centre for the Richmond neighborhood was completed recently; its facilities now offer a wide variety of amenities to home owners. Some features of these facilities include dog training groups, a moms’ and tots’ group, and a playgroup.  For local recreation, there are hockey and skating rinks in the center. The community centre also hosts socials and fundraising activities. Additional recreational choices are provided by the nearby pathway system, the Southwest Regional Park, and the Richmond Green golf course property. Shopping and dining are easily accessible with a short commute to the Calgary downtown or a hop over to the neighboring commercial area of Marda Loop.
