West Springs Neighbourhood
The upscale neighbourhood of West Springs is located within the west zone of Calgary, specifically to the west of Coach Hill, in a new area off of Old Banff Coach Road. Established as a residential area back in 2001, West Springs is one of the newer communities in Calgary, and boasts a diversity of abodes sporting unique architectural designs, lavish interior decorations, and incorporation of the latest technology in construction materials to ensure housing units will last a lifetime.
The land on which this neighborhood stands today was formerly a part of the East Springbank area at the Municipal District of Rocky View. After its amalgamation to the city in 1995, urbanization took place six years later. With an assortment of dwellings ranging from $400,000 to $2 million and beyond, thousands of home buyers were drawn to move in. Its population went from zero to over 5,700 by the year 2007, and eventually all the way up to more than 7,800 by 2011, making it one of the fastest growing communities to date.
A little more than four-fifths of this community’s housing inventory is comprised of single-detached dwellings, while the remaining one-fifth is a mixture of townhouses, row houses, and semi-detached residences.
